“What moves me is anything creative, whether it’s woodwork, sketching, or designing. Anything creative really gets me going.” - Jaimus Tailor
Welcome to A Portrait of Progress, a series that sees seven changemakers come together to create one inspiring collective. A collective united by one goal, protecting our planet and those who inhabit it.
Please introduce yourself.
Hiya, I'm Jaimus TaIlor. I'm a London-based designer and maker.
What moves you?
What moves me is anything creative—whether it’s woodwork, sketching, or designing. Anything creative really gets me going.
What does Earth positive mean to you?
To me, Earth positive means being resourceful. Using what’s around you, sourcing locally, and giving back locally too.
What advice would you tell your younger self?
I’d tell myself: everything’s going to be okay. Just keep doing what you’re doing.
How do you stay grounded?
I usually stay grounded by walking the dog, getting some headspace. Stepping away from the studio often brings a bit more creativity back.
How did your journey begin?
My journey probably began when I was a young kid. My dad was really resourceful, he used what he had around him. We’d build random stuff from materials we found locally. So that sparked something in me early on, but it’s only more recently that I’ve started to develop my own craft.
