Vegea 'grape leather'

VEGEA is an alternative to animal leather made from grape waste material.

  • Made from agri-waste

    VEGEA was born out of a desire to repurpose waste from the Italian winemaking industry. The solid remains of grapes after pressing (including the skins, pulp, seeds and stems) are combined with vegetable oil and water-based polyurethane (PUD).

  • Renewable and recycled

    The bio-based component is then coated onto cotton, resulting in a durable material made of more than 70% renewable and recycled raw materials.

  • Circular by design

    Our sneakers are comfortable, cushioned and extend the use of the grapes—creating a more circular material system.

Packaging

We are currently exploring a range of materials to better protect your products and the planet—from the compostable TIPA® bags you know and love, to recycled plastic bags and reusable cotton garment bags.

    We are always searching for the best packaging solutions, valuing progress over perfection. Our current experimentation is by no means perfect, but we look forward to sharing exciting updates in the near future.

    Really comfy

    They are smart wearing shoes while also maintaining comfort. I feel as though they will definitely last a lot longer than any of my other shoes. Amazing shoes

    Sooo comfortable and smart too.

    I struggle with finding comfortable shoes and when I was given these by my granddaughter I thought they looked too small and narrow. How wrong was I! They fitted perfectly and so I immediately bought the black ones too. They are super comfortable and I will be back for more.

    I’m converted!

    To be honest my partner bought me these I thought the price was a bit heavy for white sneakers. I was wrong.

    Incredibly comfortable and a really nice shape. Love them here to buy more!
